Conditions of Contest Nomination "Solo programs"

The participants of the first round must send the audiocassette with record of any compositions from the programs of 2nd -3rd rounds by duration no more than 15 minutes.


Piano
Second round


à) J. S. Bach Prelude and fugue from Well Tempered Clavier (at your choice);
b) Chopin One of the lyrical compositions;
c) Liszt One of the virtuous compositions.

Duration of performance is maximum 15 minutes.


Third round

à) One of the Sonatas (completely):
Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven;
b) Concert piece of the Russian composer of 19 - 20th centuries.

Duration of performance is 20 minutes. The Jury reserves the right to itself to hear only 1st or 2nd and 3rd of Sonata's movements.


Violin
Second round

à) Two movements from one of the following Sonatas:
Nardini, Korelli, Veraccini,
Vivaldi, Hendel, Tartini;

b) Two pieces at the choice: one lyrical, other virtuous

Duration of performance is maximum 15 minutes.


Third round

à) One composition in the form of a Variation or a Fantasia.
b) One virtuous piece of the following composers: Beriot, Vieuxtemps, Paganini, Sarasate, Weniavsky, Brahms.
c) One piece of the Russian composer of 19-20th centuries.

Duration of performance is 20 minutes.


Cello
Second round

à) One of the Sonatas (completely) at the choice: Tessarini, Ariosti, Boccerini, Caporale, Eccles;
b) Two pieces at the choice: one lyrical, one virtuous.

Duration of performance is maximum 15 minutes. The Jury reserves the right to listen the separate Sonata's movements.


Third round

à) One of the virtuous compositions by Popper;
b) Compositions of the Russian composers of 19-20th centuries;
c) Concert pieces at the choice not repeating compositions of the 1st and 2nd rounds.

Duration of performance is 20 minutes.


Flute
Second round

à) J. S. Bach Sonata E-dur ¹ 6, 1st and 2nd movements (with repeats);
b) Virtuous piece of the composer 19th centuries at the choice.

Duration of performance is maximum 15 minutes.


Third round

a) Tchaikovsky-Tsibin Song without words;
b) Chopin Variation on the Rossini's Theme (with repeats);
c) Piece of the composer of 20th centuries at the choice.

Duration of performance is 20 minutes.


The Jury of each competitive group defines the participants of the second round.
The second and third rounds of Contest will pass in Moscow in the period from November 1st to 10th. The conditions of the Contest are the same for the winners of other Competitions.
The programs are executed by heart.
In each competitive group is established three money prizes and rank "winner". All participants of the third round will receive a rank "diplomant" and will award with the honorable diplomas. The Jury reserves the right to award not all prizes or to divide the prizes. The Jury's decisions are final. The participants may be awarded with the prizes of other organizations.
Lots shall be drawn on November 1st 2002 to determine the order of play and shall be held to the end of Contest.
The charges on stay on Contest of the participants, teachers, accompanists, parents are at own expense participants or directing organizations.
The participants will have acoustic rehearsals before each round in the hall during 15-20 minutes. The Contest organizers will provide an accompanist for the contestants. Only one rehearsal session will be provided without paining. Contestants may bring their own pianist at their own expense.
